How do I get Neptune? Is it on the App Store yet?
Not yet. Neptune is currently in open beta through Apple's TestFlight. Join the beta here. You'll need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and Apple's free TestFlight app installed first. Logging, conditions and your personal statistics work anywhere; the reference data covers 15 East Coast states at varying depth: see "What states does Neptune cover?" below.
I found a bug in the beta. How do I report it?
Please do. That's the point of a beta. Open Settings → Report a Bug in the app, which sends us the details along with a screenshot and your device info. You can also just email us. If something looks wrong in your stats rather than the interface, mention roughly how many catches you've logged: several insights deliberately stay hidden until they have enough data to be trustworthy, so an empty card is sometimes correct behaviour rather than a bug.
How do I delete my account and my data?
Open Neptune, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your account and every catch and trip you've logged. It can't be undone. If you're having trouble accessing the app to do this yourself, email us and we'll take care of it.
I logged a catch but it's not showing up on my other device
Neptune logs everything offline-first, then syncs automatically once you have a signal. If something looks stuck, open Settings → Sync Status and tap Retry All. If it's still stuck after that, email us with your account email and roughly when the catch was logged.
What states does Neptune cover?
Logging, conditions and your own statistics work anywhere: they only need your catches and public weather data. The reference data is built state by state, so it's worth being specific:
Full depth: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida. Stocking history, fishing regulations, and survey-grade forage data.
Water bodies and forage data: 15 states along the East Coast. The four above plus Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
Stocking data: 10 of those 15 so far, wherever the state agency publishes a usable feed. Regulations are still the four states only: we leave them blank rather than show you an approximate size or bag limit, because that's the one number where being wrong has legal consequences. Check your state agency for those.
How do I switch between Imperial and Metric units?
Settings → Units. The change applies immediately across the whole app, including past entries.
Is my data private?
Yes. Neptune has no ads, no social feed, and doesn't sell your data. Your catch history is yours. It's used only to power your own personal bite-pattern insights. See our Privacy Policy for details.
